I really enjoyed this article. We’ve had similar Bibles in our family for years. I salvaged a great-great-grandfather’s baby photograph from my grandparents’ Bible shortly before my grandmother died. My grandmother told me it was fine, and I’m glad I did it, because after her death, it passed into the hands of my uncle. And then he died 6 years ago and the person he was staying with simply “lost it” (according to what she claims). My mom has already given me many of her family photo albums. I brought them with me when I moved overseas. She still has a Bible with family information in it, which will go to me on her death. But she still takes it with her to church.
